‘‘REGAINED INNOCENCE’’, for years now this term has haunted me, it has touched my soul, my existence…!
I first heard it from my beloved life teachers, the child psychiatrist, existential-systemic psychotherapist Mr. Dimitris Karagiannis and the child psychiatrist, existential-systemic psychotherapist Mrs. Eleni Karagianni and I thank them warmly for having had the honor and blessing of being their trainee.
I owe them a lot.
One of these is to try daily to regain my own innocence. With great love, immense appreciation and gratitude I dedicate this collection to them.
I was then informed by Mrs.Eleni Karagianni that the term ‘‘Regained Innocence’’ is inspired by the poetry of our great Greek poet Odysseas Elytis.
With great respect I borrowed this term, trying through my own perspective to transform it into inspiration for my collection and art.
…And there comes a time when you realize that you want to find some parts of yourself again and connect with them in a different way.
You want to meet yourself again, your fellow human beings and everything which surrounds you with essence, kindness, love, respect, purity and innocence.
This innocence does not come from ignorance, but from choice.
It is the ‘’REGAINED INNOCENCE’’.
It does not contain within it the naivety of childhood, but a more mature and conscious look that has within it nuggets of childhood enthusiasm and joy, which have been masterfully transformed into the present by an adult.
You choose to find yourself again, but differently this time, with a clearer gaze, with your truth as a compass and your inner voice as a map, getting closer to your authentic self and listening better to your inner child.
Regained Innocence, Regained Joy, Regained Freedom, Regained Femininity, Regained Passion, Regained Radiance, Regained Peace, Regained Love, Regained Kindness, Regained Humanity, Regained Beauty, Regained Essence, Regained Enthusiasm…
I can think of countless things that someone might want to rediscover, regain, and reconquer in his/her life in a new, more mature way this time.
I couldn’t talk about Regained Innocence and not use soft, sweet pastel shades that refer to it, such as light blue, salmon, pink, lilac, and pistachio, and exude elegance and femininity.
I also used fabrics as soft as caresses and feathers to give wings to the imagination and a feeling of freedom.
I used 3D flowers and also reliefs that symbolize beauty, flowering, rebirth, hope, love.
I used lace and tulle for this sweet play between female femininity and the innocence of our inner child that exists within all of us women.
I used sequins, beads and glitter because dreams need sparkle, magic and their stardust to come true!
I also dedicate this collection to all of you who want to regain your own innocence.
